* Was missing a startup entry in /etc/rc.d for webif. Themes were never setup right (thanks george)
	* First mtd partition is now 'nvram' and I hide something in your /root directory ;)
	* Maybe another bug but I forgot.

OpenWRT devel build 5

	* Fix wifi again. build4 didn't send beacons. I must have not incorporated all the right parts of Helmut's patch, or rt2x00-git is much different than compat-wireless-2011-01-06, or the rt61pci doesn't fetch beacons periodically. So now it fetches them, and it's handled in the irq, since this is what caused CPU to be eaten by handling it in thread or even tasklet

There is a problem that I have no one with serial console to assist with testing these firmwares before I post them. Thus, it is all at your risk. I do limited tested beforehand.

I have looked at our bootloader, and it has no method to attempt a failsafe TFTP flash as Broadcom's does. The WRT54G I believe will load a TFTP image from bootloader if kernel is broke without intervention. Our current bootloader will not. If you attempt to start a TFTP trans…

WRTU54G-TM: Device Info

The WRTU54-TM has an 8MB flash, 64MB RAM, Infineon WildPass ADM8668 SoC, Infineon Vinetic device for the two telephone ports, and GemPlus GemCore SIM Pro Smart Card Reader attached to the USB bus to read credentials from two SIM cards. The wireless chipset is a Ralink RT61 on the PCI bus. It utilizes UMA/GAN. Basically all voice traffic is passed as GSM over an IPSec link to T-Mobile.

The Long Story

I managed to get the 5×2 pin header, and a “jtag cable” from a previous employer. I haven't soldered in awhile so I messed with it awhile trying to desolder all the points to attach the 10-pin header. Well, turns out, as far as I know, that the ground connections are not drilled through. So I attached ground to the serial port. Then I look at the

I do very limited tested beforehand. I currently have a couple helpful users that give me constant feedback, but I post builds after I change something I find worthwhile. I need YOUR FEEDBACK I do not actually run this router on my network, because it's always connected to my laptop getting hacked. Maybe someone should send me one or two more.

Introduction

This is currently in the OpenWRT trunk, and while not an official marked release, if it builds, it usually builds something stable. :) If you'd like to discuss this, I created a mailing list so information isn't scattered around various forums and my own personal email. Let's get a little community going where everyone can benefit!

ttylinux

Douglas Jerome is working on getting ttylinux working on our router. It's a generic command line distribution. I've been helping where I can to ensure the kernel supports what he needs (initrd and maybe a better mtd map).

U-Boot

The WRT54G and like Broadcom devices seem to allow a boot_wait option where we can fix any broken flash remotely by TFTP without opening the router. Currently our only solution is opening the device and installing a serial connection, with use of a TTL RS232 converter. This isn't within the ability of many end-users.
